Springfield Clinic is seeking a Laboratory Assistant 3 to perform urine microscopy, microbiology specimen setup, and bone marrow processing, while supporting culture setup and billing tasks.

You will review samples, post charges, assist inventory, and communicate with physicians and patients. The role requires a high school diploma and phlebotomy/medical lab experience, with OSHA/ HIPAA adherence. This on-site position is based in Springfield, IL.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy and medical lab experience preferred.
• Must be able to multi-task and communicate effectively.

Responsabilidades

• PROCESSING - receive specimens, ensure samples are complete and ready for testing.
• ASSIST WITH BONE MARROW - collect supplies and prepare smears, assist physicians as needed.
• URINE MICROSCOPY - operate microscope and identify crystals/cellular structures.
• MICROBIOLOGY - set up cultures and manage identity and workflow.
• BILLING - post patient charges and assist inventory/Billing LIS Coordinator as needed.
• Answer phones and contact patients or physician offices.
• Comply with HIPAA/privacy policies and clinic procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and perform other duties as assigned.
