Job summary

Main Line Health seeks a Lab Assistant II to join a team that processes specimens and communicates critical results across the clinical lab. The role involves venipuncture and micro-collection techniques for patients of all ages, under supervision of the laboratory supervisor, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

This part-time, 8-hour schedule includes day shifts and weekends as outlined, with opportunities to grow lab skills across multiple areas.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of laboratory experience required.
• Proficiency in two different areas of the lab strongly preferred.
• 1 year experience with infant collections.
• High school graduate; certification as a medical assistant or related field preferred; moderate knowledge of medical terminology; excellent verbal, written, computer and clerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Processes and handles specimens for testing in multiple clinical and anatomic areas.
• May obtain blood specimens on patients of all ages by venipuncture and micro-collection techniques.
• Communicates critical information to the healthcare team under supervision.

Skills

Position:

Laboratory Assistant II- 8 hours/week- no benefits

Shift-

Days- 6a-230p every other weekend / Saturday & Sunday

Experience:

• 2+ years laboratory experience required.
• Proficiency in 2 different areas of the lab strongly preferred.
• 1 year experience with infant collections

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent, certification as a medical assistant or related field preferred, moderate knowledge of medical terminology, excellent verbal, written, computer and clerical skills.

Licensures/Certifications:

Maintains certification in the Packaging and Shipping of Hazardous Goods.
