Job summary

TekWissen LLC in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to support daily activities in Formulation Development Labs. You will work under formulation scientists and lab technicians to prepare small batch size formulations and record results.

This onsite role requires a chemistry-related degree and basic data handling skills; prior lab experience is preferred, and familiarity with ELN software and MS Office is beneficial for accurate data storage and quality checks.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's or associate's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field required; previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day activities in the Formulation Development Labs.
• Work under the guidance of Formulation Scientists and Lab Technician to prepare small batch size formulations and assess their physical properties.
• Record all results according to proper data storage guidelines and use available tools to visualize results.
• Support quality assessment of products related to production or market support.
• Help the Lab Technician with maintenance of the labs (general lab and equipment maintenance, restocking, clean-outs, etc.), with a key focus on safety.

Job Description:

Duties:

• Assist with day-to-day activities in the Formulation Development Labs.
• Work under the guidance of Formulation Scientists and Lab Technician to prepare small batch size formulations and assess their physical properties.
• Record all results according to proper data storage guidelines provided and use available tools to visualize results.
• Support quality assessment of products related to production or market support.
• Help the Lab Technician with maintenance of the labs (general lab and equipment maintenance, restocking, clean-outs, etc.), with a key focus on safety.

Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Able to learn and effectively use new software tools for Electronic Lab Notebook purposes
• Able to calculate recipes for a specified batch size, given composition information in wt% or w/v% and density
• Able to adjust recipe calculations based on specified ingredient purity

Education:

• A bachelors or associates degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field required; previous laboratory experience preferred.
