Job summary

TekWissen Group seeks an entry Lab Technician in Ankeny, IA for a 6-month, onsite assignment. The role supports daily laboratory activities, including receiving samples, maintaining inventory, preparing buffers and reagents, and assisting with genotyping production.

• Support daily laboratory activities by overseeing general operations and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
• Receive and organize incoming samples; maintain labware inventory; prepare buffers and reagents.
• Troubleshoot and operate equipment used in genotyping production; review and update task-related documentation.
• Candidates may rotate across Chipping, Extraction, and Detection lab areas.
• Follow Employee Safety and Health (ESH) guidelines, SOPs, workflow guidelines, and maintain a safe environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and interface with system support teams and researchers.

Job Description:

• The ideal candidate will support daily laboratory activities by overseeing general operations and maintaining a clean, organized, and orderly workspace.
• Responsibilities could include receiving and organizing incoming samples, maintaining adequate labware inventory, and preparing buffers and reagents.
• This role also involves troubleshooting and operating equipment used in genotyping production, as well as reviewing and updating task-related documentation.
• Candidates may be required to rotate across all three laboratory areas: Chipping, Extraction, and Detection.
• Understanding and following Employee Safety and Health (ESH) guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflow guidelines, and maintaining a safe work environment are needed.
• Be able to manage multiple tasks, work effectively with more than one supervisor, and interface with other functions such as system support teams and research personnel are encouraged.
• Training for these positions may occur outside the listed normal work hours, depending on the availability of training personnel. This will be discussed prior to hiring.
