Job summary

Colorado State University is seeking a dedicated researcher to conduct independent laboratory work in Fort Collins. The role involves planning and running experiments, collecting and processing biological samples, and performing a range of biochemical and molecular assays.

You will analyze data, draft figures and methods, and help maintain lab operations and supplies. Mentoring students is also part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, organize and conduct experiments
  • Collect samples (bacterial, tissues, blood); process, catalog and store samples
  • Conduct cellular, biochemical, and molecular assays (e.g., chromatography, BCA, SDS-PAGE, qPCR, PCR, ELISAs, NMR, Mass Spectrometry)
  • Perform initial data analysis; draft figures, methods, and results
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory operation and efficiency by helping with inventory and resourcing lab supplies and shared equipment
  • Maintain laboratory equipment as assigned
  • Assist with maintaining freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks (knowledge of repository structures)
  • Mentor students and other laboratory members as needed
  • Be part of a team responsible for chemical fume hoods and chemical storage / waste collection

  5. Assist in maintaining laboratory operation and efficiency by assisting with performing inventory, organizing, and appropriately resourcing lab supplies and shared equipment
  6. Maintaining laboratory equipment as assigned.
  7. Assist with maintaining freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks (knowledge of repository structures)
  8. Mentor students, other laboratory members as needed
  9. Be part of a team responsible for chemical fume hoods and chemical storage / waste collection
Salary Range

21.00-40.00 / hr
