The position involves handling specimens, data entry into the laboratory information system, and supporting routine lab operations. Part-time shifts, with a schedule including mornings, and potential temp-to-hire conversion.

Job description

SALARY: $18.00 per hour

SCHEDULE: Part-Time, Mon+Fri+Sat, 8-hour shifts with start time between 9:00 AM-11:00 AM; Temp to hire

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Accurately enter patient demographics, insurance information, and test requests into the laboratory information system.
• Receive, sort, organize, and route specimens for laboratory testing.
• Review specimens to determine appropriate processing or disposal.
• Scan requisitions and transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory departments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience performing high-volume, accurate data entry; 10-key experience and average typing speed 40-50 WPM with high accuracy preferred.
• Comfortable handling biological samples and fluids. (Bagged and in containers)
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Outlook and Windows OS.
• Experience working in a lab is a plus but not required.
• Associates or Bachelors degree in a lab science preferred or currently pursuing a degree in a lab science.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be comfortable with frequent standing, walking, repetitive computer work, and occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs.
