Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA in Reno, NV is seeking a dedicated laboratory technician to help ensure proper processing, preparation, routing, and storage of patient specimens in a fast-paced lab setting. You will participate in maintaining safety, quality control, and compliance with PHI privacy standards, while supporting a collaborative team focused on accurate, efficient patient care.

The role requires a high school diploma and experience with specimen collection or processing; training on laboratory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment including centrifuges and computers.
• Ability to obtain State Lab License.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper processing, preparation, routing, and storage of patient specimens.
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement solutions.
• Work in a lab with PPE requirements and potential biohazards.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.

This opportunity is - Location: Reno, NV Status: Full-time Shift: 1st Benefit Eligible

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process by making sure laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
• Ability to obtain State Lab License.
