Job summary

UL Solutions in Lowell, AR is seeking an Assembly Technician to build and adapt basic test setups, perform tests with general laboratory equipment, and ensure proper operation of instruments. You will work day shift, interact with engineers, and support data collection.

You will read blueprints, record results, and communicate findings to the team. A high school diploma and solid communication skills are required, with a team-oriented mindset and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Builds/adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.
  • Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.

  • Records and explains test results.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and instructions.
  • Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
  • Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory staff.
  • Develops working knowledge of methods, instrumentation and systems; integrates continuous improvement concepts.

Job description

  • Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.
  • Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.
  • Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
  • Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
  • As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets.
  • Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.
  • Records and explains test results.
  • Reads and interprets results of tests.
  • Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.
  • Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
  • As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.
  • Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
  • Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
  • Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff.
  • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
  • Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.
  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
Qualifications
  • Higher Secondary Education. Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.

Total Rewards: This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
