The organization serves clients across industries—from environmental monitoring to consumer products—by applying high-quality, scientific rigor and innovative sensory science to real-world challenges.

As a Lab Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, quality, and reliability in every project delivered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, organize, and analyze samples for sensory testing, following strictly defined protocols.
  • Set up and monitor odor evaluation panels, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform laboratory tasks including sample logging, data recording, QA/QC documentation, equipment calibration, and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and supply inventory in compliance with safety procedures.
  • Support the team with test design and documentation, as requested.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks related to lab operations.
  • Participate as a sensory assessor in a back-up capacity, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, assessors, and customers to ensure smooth workflow and top-notch service.
Required Skills:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, food science, or a related field; and/or equivalent hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Ability to follow precise procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Comfort working with both technical staff and non-technical assessors.
  • Ability to, at times, adjust scheduling, with advanced notice, for testing that requires early-morning starts or late-evening completions.
  • Team player with strong dexterity skills, particularly hands and fingers, handling repetitive tasks, a good sense of smell (meeting certified standards), and the ability to stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous laboratory experience (academic, research, or industry).
  • Familiarity with and keen interest in sensory science, odor testing, or environmental analysis.
  • Experience with data entry, various software platforms, and basic statistical analysis.
  • Be part of a small, specialized team making a big impact in odor science.
  • Gain hands-on experience in a unique scientific discipline.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and technical skill development.
  • Work in a collaborative, family-run environment where your everyday contributions matter.
