Responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures (blood draws) in the laboratory and hospital settings. Ensures blood drawing trays are properly stocked and maintained, accurately records all procedures in the computer system, and verifies patient identity by matching request information with wristbands. Notifies medical technologists upon test completion and uses proper technique to obtain samples with minimal sticks. Adheres to hospital policies, maintains good rapport with hospital staff and patients, and responds to emergency procedures as needed.
