Job summary

Job Summary:

10 Month Position responsible for collecting, processing, and preparing patient specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring accurate patient identification, specimen integrity, and exceptional patient care. This position performs venipuncture, capillary collection, specimen processing, point-of-care testing as assigned, and other laboratory support functions in accordance with established clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.

Job Description:
  • Collects blood and other patient specimens using approved collection techniques.
  • Accurately identifies, labels, processes, and prepares specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Performs specimen handling, storage, packaging, and transport in accordance with laboratory requirements.
  • Performs point-of-care testing and laboratory support functions as assigned.
  • Maintains laboratory supplies, equipment, and collection materials to support daily operations.
Other Qualifications:
  • Experience with specimen processing and laboratory work flows
  • Experience performing point-of-care or waived laboratory testing
  • Experience working in an outpatient or ambulatory healthcare setting
