A leading company is seeking a laboratory research assistant to support their research team in Belmont. The role involves assisting with the health monitoring of laboratory rats and performing essential tasks such as data collation and experiment facilitation. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a preferred background in animal handling, particularly with behavioral studies.

Essential Functions
- Assists other laboratory staff with health monitoring of laboratory rats, animal handling, weighing, food and water regimens, and unconditioned behavioral experiments including startle and prepulse inhibition of startle.
- Data collation, transformation, and descriptive and inferential statistics using laboratory equipment and personal computers.
- After training and some experience, participates in training students and/or newer staff members.
Education
Bachelor's Degree preferred or High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
Prior experience with handling live laboratory rats, including drug administration via subcutaneous injections using aseptic technique, preferred.
Experience with startle equipment and data processing, including statistics for startle and prepulse inhibition, preferred.
Experience working with rats in behavioral studies, specifically startle and prepulse inhibition, 0-1 year preferred.
