Overview

Employment Type: Part-time or flexible schedule with potential for full-time

Serpin Pharma is seeking a qualified Laboratory Animal Technician to support preclinical research activities in drug development. This position is integral to the execution of translational research focused on anti-inflammatory and regenerative therapeutics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in rodent handling and procedures, adherence to regulatory protocols, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of animal care and facility operations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily health and mortality checks; identify signs of disease, pain, or abnormal behavior in rodents
  • Perform technical procedures including SC, IV, IM, IP injections, oral gavage, and blood collection
  • Administer anesthesia (gas and injectable), perform euthanasia, and conduct necropsy with tissue collection
  • Execute animal identification techniques (ear-tagging, tattooing) and proper restraint methods
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with IACUC protocols and institutional SOPs
  • Support standard husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, and cage sanitation
  • Ensure cleanliness and regulatory compliance of the animal facility
  • Collaborate with scientific staff to coordinate technical support for ongoing studies
Qualifications
  • High school diploma plus ≥4 years of relevant experience
  • Associate degree in biological sciences plus ≥2 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences plus ≥1 year of experience
  • LAT certification or equivalent training
  • Familiarity with preclinical study protocols and regulatory standards
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in a laboratory setting
  • Experience with imaging, breeding, and surgical procedures
