The Laboratory Animal Technicians in the Center for Comparative Medicine and Research (CCMR) provide specific care to laboratory animals in a safe and sanitary manner in accordance with clearly defined direction and established federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines and policies on the use of laboratory animals in the conduct of biomedical research and to provide support for the research investigations. This is a developmental position, involving intensive training and increased responsibility as the individual becomes proficient in the work. Upon completion of the training and when management determines full performance has been met, the incumbent may be promoted non‑competitively to the next level.
Employment in this position is contingent upon consent to and successful completion of a pre‑employment background check, which may include a criminal background check, reference checks, verification of work history, conduct review, and verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, with results acceptable to Dartmouth College.
