Job Description

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician to join our dynamic team! This position works in the barrier operation as part of the team specializing in rabbits. The role involves animal care and welfare, production and selection for customer orders, facility upkeep, recordkeeping, and procedural duties. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with animals, organized, and capable of maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment. We value hardworking individuals with attention to detail, initiative, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

1. Caring for animals, including feeding, cleaning, and breeding responsibilities in a production facility.
2. Sanitation of the facility through cleaning and power washing.
3. Following protocols to ensure animal health and welfare.
4. Coordinating order details, including selection, packaging, and accuracy confirmation.
5. Maintaining accurate records of breeding, feeding, cleaning, and care activities.
6. Ensuring sanitation of animal buildings, cages, and support areas.

Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who:

• Desire to work with and care for animals daily.
• Have an interest in animal development.
• Are committed to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Can complete paperwork as needed.
• Are available to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Can come in early for shipments when required.
• Are willing to work overtime when needed.
• Possess ALAT or related certification (highly desirable).
• Have 1+ years of animal care experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Stand or walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a time.
• Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat, and lift.

This position may be offered at different levels depending on education and experience, with salary adjusted accordingly.
