Overview

Position Title: Analyst I

Business Title: Laboratory Analyst I, Metals

Entity: Consumer Products Services Division

Department: Galbraith

Location: Knoxville, TN

Reports to (N+1): Metals Laboratory Supervisor

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

Position Summary

The Laboratory Analyst I, Metals is responsible for preparing and analyzing a wide variety of client samples for elemental content using analytical chemistry methodology and spectroscopic instruments.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Preparing samples, standard reference materials, reagents, and solutions.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Performing and documenting routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation.
• Documenting raw data and analysis results.
• Executing analytical procedures in accordance with regulations.
• Following company Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental policies.
• Complying with management systems and regulatory guidelines.
• Follows the guidelines in the company Quality Manual and Safety/Chemical Hygiene Plan.
• Adheres to the company Quality System requirements.
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
