Job summary

The Department of Workforce Services in Wyoming is seeking a Labor Standards Analyst to investigate, evaluate, and issue determinations on wage and hour laws and civil rights violations.

You will conduct independent adjudication, manage cases, and may conduct ADR conferences, site visits, and training on employment law for the public. This role requires strong analytical and legal research skills and knowledge of state and federal labor statutes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 0-3 years of progressive work experience (Labor Standards) or 4-6 years substituted experience.

Responsibilities

  • Advises claimants, charging parties, and others on labor laws and wage and hour statutes.
  • Investigates and issues determinations on wage claims and discrimination charges.
  • Conducts alternative dispute resolution conferences and site visits as needed.
  • Performs legal research and reviews decisions under applicable statutes and regulations.
