Job summary

Diversified is seeking a Labor Resource Manager for the NY/NJ TechOps region. You will coordinate internal and subcontracted labor across regional projects, ensuring the right personnel with the right skills are deployed efficiently to maximize project performance.

This role requires leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment. Regular travel within the NY/NJ region is expected as part of project support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or in lieu of degree, 10 years of equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing labor resources, field operations, installation teams, or project execution activities across multiple job sites.
  • Strong understanding of audiovisual, technology integration, construction, or related field deployment environments.
  • Experience working with subcontractors, workforce planning, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and operational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the scheduling, allocation, and deployment of site supervisors, installation technicians, commissioning resources, and subcontractors across multiple projects throughout the NY/NJ region.
  • Forecast labor requirements based on project pipeline reviews, staffing trends, and operational priorities.
  • Identify labor shortages, skill gaps, and resource constraints well in advance, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate labor assignments to support project schedules, milestones, and customer commitments.
  • Partner with TechOps Director, Field Implementation leadership, Project Managers, and Service teams to align resources with objectives.
  • Provide clear communication regarding labor changes, staffing updates, and resource availability to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate emergency labor requests and respond quickly to changing project requirements.
  • Support coordination between Installation and Service teams when customer support or warranty activities require additional resources.
  • Track and manage tools, equipment, and logistics for project execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on labor efficiency and deployment methodology.

Labor Resource Manager - NY/NJ TechOps
What Part Will You Play?

The Labor Resource Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and deployment of internal and subcontracted labor resources across all regional projects. This role ensures the correct personnel, with the suitable skills and experience, are assigned to the appropriate projects, maximizing workforce utilization, project efficiency and customer satisfaction. Acting as the central point of coordination between Project Management, Field Operations, Service, Functional Delivery Leadership, and subcontractor partners, the Labor Resource Manager drives workforce planning efforts that support successful project execution while maintaining compliance with company standards, labor budgets, and deployment strategies. The Labor Resource Manager plays a key role in forecasting future labor demands, identifying resource gaps, evaluating subcontractor performance, and implementing processes that improve operational effectiveness throughout the region. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, business acumen, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast‑paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities
Workforce Planning & Resource Management
  • Lead the scheduling, allocation, and deployment of site supervisors, installation technicians, commissioning resources, and subcontractors across multiple projects throughout the NY/NJ region.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of workforce capabilities, certifications, experience levels, and project‑specific skill requirements to optimize labor assignments.
  • Forecast labor requirements based on project pipeline reviews, staffing trends, and operational priorities.
  • Identify potential labor shortages, skill gaps, and resource constraints well in advance, and develop mitigation plans to support project commitments.
  • Monitor workforce utilization and productivity metrics to ensure efficient deployment of internal and external resources.
  • Coordinate labor assignments to support project schedules, critical milestones, accelerated timelines, and customer commitments.
Operational Coordination
  • Partner closely with the TechOps Director, Field Implementation leadership, Project Managers, and Service teams to ensure labor resources are aligned with project objectives and business priorities.
  • Participate in project planning meetings to assess labor needs and support effective execution strategies.
  • Independently review daily field support requirements and adjust resource assignments as priorities shift.
  • Provide clear communication regarding labor changes, staffing updates, and resource availability to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate emergency labor requests and respond quickly to changing project requirements.
  • Assist Project Managers with Scorecard closeout processes and provide logistical and administrative support as required.
Subcontractor Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regional subcontractor partners.
  • Evaluate subcontractors based on performance, quality, capacity, safety compliance, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) for Functional Delivery Leader approval.
  • Support negotiation efforts related to subcontractor labor rates, availability, and project assignments.
  • Maintain a qualified subcontractor network capable of supporting fluctuating project demands.
  • Provide documented performance feedback and recommendations regarding future subcontractor engagement.
Project Execution & Support
  • Ensure labor deployment aligns with project schedules, budget requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Support project startup, execution, and closeout activities.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate labor reporting, project completion documentation, and project closeout requirements are met.
  • Assist in resolving field personnel challenges and deployment conflicts.
  • Support coordination between Installation and Service teams when customer support or warranty activities require additional resources.
Tools, Equipment & Logistics
  • Track and manage the availability and utilization of company‑owned tools, test equipment, and specialty resources.
  • Coordinate the movement and delivery of tools, materials, and equipment required for project execution.
  • Support regional fleet coordination and logistics planning to ensure field teams have the resources necessary to perform their work safely and efficiently.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Serve as an active member of the regional leadership team.
  • Promote consistency in deployment processes, workforce management practices, and operational standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on labor efficiency, workforce utilization, deployment methodology, and project execution.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of company policies, safety programs, and field operational standards.
  • Contribute to strategic workforce planning and organizational growth initiatives.

Working Environment
