Position Overview

The MTA seeks an experienced professional for the role of Labor Relations Specialist in the Office of Labor and Employee Relations. Responsibilities include counseling management, interpreting MDOT policies, representing MTA in grievance proceedings, disciplinary actions, and arbitrations, interfacing with various offices, conducting investigations, and managing collective bargaining matters.

The position is based in Baltimore City, Maryland.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six years of relevant experience, including knowledge of employment laws and experience with employee relations and contract negotiations
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in developing and conducting training on grievance and disciplinary procedures; experience with TSHRS and collective bargaining.

Substitutions:
  • 30 college credits per year of experience, up to 4 years
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience
  • Master’s degree plus 1 year of experience
  • Military service involving relevant staff work
