Your Purpose: As a Labor Relations Manager, you will report to the Director of People & Culture and will be responsible for developing and implementing labor and employee relations policies, procedures, and programs to maintain positive relationships between management and employees. This role will facilitate and manage labor and employee relations on behalf of the company while ensuring compliance with labor laws, facilitating effective communication, and resolving employee complaints and disputes.

Your Role:

Strategy and Program Development
  • Develop and implement labor and employee relations strategies and programs, in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Prepare and analyze data on labor and employee relations trends and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Use surveys, interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues. After analyzing the information, make recommendations on changes.
Compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of employment and labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Monitor and explain labor and employee relations regulations and legislation to managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Collaborate with leadership on policy matters and memoranda of understanding during negotiations.
  • Support FRA regulatory compliance efforts by assisting with initiatives and providing guidance.
Negotiations and Representation
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and departments in preparing for and participating in negotiations with employees and labor groups, including analyzing labor contracts.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, contract negotiations, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Analyze data related to negotiations and disputes, including proposals, wages, benefits, and working conditions.
Training and Advising
  • Advise and train managers and supervisors in employee relations practices and grievance management.
  • Develop additional training as needed.
Complaint and Grievance Resolution
  • Investigate and resolve labor complaints and grievances.
Other Responsibilities
  • Engage with leaders and employees to identify concerns and provide guidance.
  • Support P&C Business Partners, including participation in on-call rotation for after-hours resolution.
  • Monitor communication channels for timely updates.

This role requires flexibility, including working evenings, weekends, and travel within Florida.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business, or related; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of labor relations experience in a unionized, multi-location environment.
  • Experience in transportation industry and certification are a plus.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Understanding of labor laws and collective bargaining.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in labor relations software and HR systems.
  • Ability to work onsite in Orlando or South Florida and travel as needed.

Work Environment: Office setting, clean and climate-controlled.

Physical Demands: Regular use of hands, standing, talking, occasional lifting.

Travel: Approximately 50% within Florida.
