Job summary

Harvard University CADM Talent Acquisition is seeking a Labor Relations Data and Reporting Analyst to deliver analytics to HR leadership. You will focus on union data, analyze membership trends, contract metrics, and present insights to inform strategic decisions.

You will gather requirements, support data access, and develop dashboards using QlikView HR Analytics, SQL, and BI tools, while collaborating with labor relations and HR leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of human resources and union data.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office products; advanced Excel; Power BI preferred.
  • Experience creating and using financial models.
  • Experience in higher education administration, BI, IT.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Job Description

Labor Relations Data and Reporting Analyst at Harvard leveraging strong analytical, communication, and people skills. This role plays a key role in delivering analytics to leaders responsible for strategy and decision-making. A critical aspect of this role is the focus on union data, where you will analyze union membership trends, contract metrics, and other union-related information to inform strategic decisions.

Job Specific Duties

Collect, analyze, and disseminate union data across various business subject areas within Harvard. Provide support on diverse analyses and reporting services, including conducting complex statistical and quantitative analyses and presenting data through written reports, oral presentations, and graphical displays. Conduct specialized analysis of union staff data to identify trends and insights, providing actionable recommendations to HR leadership and union representatives.

This position will support a variety of operations including, but not limited to, gathering business requirements, serving as the primary contact for the community on using data to answer labor and union contract questions, troubleshooting problems, performing quality assurance of data and applications, providing project support, managing data access, maintaining data dictionaries, and other duties as required within Labor Relations (e.g., QlikView HR Analytics, Operational applications, and SQL).

Typical Core Duties
  • Analyze data in a complex union environment, project management and consultative services during union negotiations.
  • Design and evaluate data sets; generate reports and tables of statistical results using a variety of tools (query and database).
  • Research, develop, and analyze metrics, particularly focusing on union data, to assist with union metrics and contract negotiations.
  • Conduct analyses of salary data, including collective bargaining impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with University Human Resources policies, procedures, and applicable legal regulations, including ownership of and a specific focus on union agreements and labor laws.
  • Using formats that are meaningful to clients, develops dashboards, reports, written management summaries elucidating conclusions, and makes oral presentations when appropriate.
  • Participate in Union/Management joint committees.
  • Manage policies owned by Labor and Employee Relations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of human resources and union specific data.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, advanced Excel skills, experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Experience with creating and using financial models.
  • Experience working in higher education administration, business analytics, business intelligence, business administration, and/or information technology.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week

Work Format Details

This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
