Job summary

Riverside Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Gloucester, VA, to plan, execute, and evaluate respiratory care for assigned patients. You will work under leadership to provide services aligned with Riverside Health System standards, ensuring safe practices and adherence to national safety goals.

Responsibilities include assessing and implementing treatment plans, coordinating with physicians and nurses, documenting orders, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year Respiratory Therapist experience required.
• NBRC RCP license with Virginia DHP required upon hire; CRT or RRT upon hire; CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate the Respiratory Care Plan for assigned patients.
• Utilize infection control techniques in performance of duties; follow departmental procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans and evaluate progress.
• Complete documentation and ensure orders are current, completed, or discontinued.
• Participate in meetings, projects, and in-services to improve Respiratory Care Services.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner utilizes current evidenced based Respiratory Care Practice to care for each patient based on the physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Works under the direction of the leadership team to provided respiratory services associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans.
