Job summary

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm with 300 attorneys in over 30 practice groups, is seeking a full-time Paralegal to support the labor department in our Syracuse office. The ideal candidate will multi-task, prioritize, and organize projects with strong verbal and written communication skills.

An associate or bachelor’s degree and prior experience in litigation are required, along with excellent computer and research abilities.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and electronic filing systems for federal and state courts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be detail-oriented with strong organization and multitasking abilities.
• Prior experience in litigation preferred and ability to interact with clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of employment litigation.
• Review and electronically file pleadings, motion papers, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare discovery documents including notices of deposition, subpoenas, document review, and Bates-stamping.
• Assist in document and discovery management.
• Conduct supporting investigation and research.
• Communicate with clients and opposing counsel regarding scheduling of depositions and logistics.
• Assist in trial preparation, including exhibits and trial books.
• Review and cite-check legal memoranda.
• Monitor court dockets and calendar dates.
• Manage and organize case-related documents.
• Prepare notices of appearance and extensions.
• Review and file position statements and responses to information requests.
• Assist in documents for administrative agencies filings.
• Assist in hearing preparation with exhibits for hearing.
• Monitor deadlines and coordinate with attorneys.
