Job summary

H. T. PROF Group's Charleston office is seeking an Associate Attorney or Counsel to join its Labor & Employment Practice Group.

The position offers exposure to employment litigation and counseling for employers, with opportunities for mentorship and growth in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate has a JD from a top-tier law school, active bar admission, 4+ years of labor and employment law experience in a sophisticated firm setting, and strong research, drafting, and litigation

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 4+ years of substantive labor and employment law experience in a sophisticated firm.
• Experience handling employment litigation matters including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, etc.
• Strong experience representing employers in administrative and court proceedings.
• Proficiency in legal research, discovery, motions, depositions, and case strategy.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in employment-related disputes before agencies and courts.
• Handle all phases of litigation including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial prep.
• Advise clients on employment law compliance and risk management.
• Counsel employers on discrimination, harassment, wage/hour, and termination issues.
• Collaborate with the labor and employment practice group to develop strategies and client service.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive guidance.
