Job summary

KingRecruitingServices is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney or Counsel to join the Charleston, SC office in a hybrid capacity. The role focuses on representing employers in a broad range of employment litigation and counseling matters, with meaningful client contact and mentorship in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 4+ years of substantive experience in labor & employment law at a sophisticated law firm.
• Experience handling employment litigation including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims.
• Strong experience representing employers in administrative agency proceedings and court litigation.
• Proficient in legal research, discovery management, motions practice, depositions, and case strategy development.
• Ability to provide practical and business-focused employment counseling.
• Experience managing multiple matters with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, sound judgment, client-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in employment-related disputes before agencies and in state and federal courts.
• Handle all phases of litigation including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, motions, and other litigation-related documents.
• Advise clients on employment law compliance and workplace risk management issues.
• Counsel employers on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, discipline, and termination matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the Labor & Employment Practice Group to develop litigation strategies.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive and practical legal guidance.
