Job summary

Northwell Health in New York seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist in Labor and Delivery and operating room procedures under RN supervision. You will prepare the sterile field, set up instruments, and support patient care in Maternal Child Health.

Requires CST, graduation from a CAAHEP/ABHES program or military surgical technology training, and ongoing CE. Position is full-time, on-site, with salary range posted and benefits aligned with Northwell guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be CST certified through NBSTSA.
• Graduated from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Completed military surgical technology program acceptable.
• Minimum 15 hours CE per year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical suite for procedures.
• Prepare supplies, instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control.
• Conduct counts of sponges, sharps and instruments.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are ready and safe.
• Check equipment functionality and report hazards.
• Verify sterilization and packaging integrity.
• Assist with instrument decontamination and restocking.
• Adhere to infection control and QA policies.
• Identify problems in patient care and escalate.
• Report incidents and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Uphold REACH values and punctual attendance.
• Perform additional duties as required.
