Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Labor & Delivery Technician to support safe, successful deliveries. You will serve as scrub person and surgical assistant during labor and delivery procedures, and assist the RN as an assistant circulator across patients from newborns to adults.

You will provide hands-on support in routine and emergency situations and cross-train as a Patient Care Technician to deliver exceptional care when deliveries are not in progress.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Surgical Technologist Certification required for graduates after 2008.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• OB Scrub experience is required.
• A calm, focused presence and patient-centered care approach.

Responsibilities

• What You’ll Do includes serving as scrub person and surgical assistant during labor and delivery procedures.
• Assist the RN as an assistant circulator across a wide range of patient populations—from newborns to adults.
• Provide hands-on support in both routine and emergency situations.
• Cross-train as a Patient Care Technician to deliver exceptional care when deliveries are not in progress.
