Job summary

Berger Health System’s Mansfield Hospital is seeking a Part-time Surgical Technologist for Labor and Delivery. The role includes preparing the room, maintaining a sterile field, and supplying instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

You will assist with patient positioning, draping, and specimen handling, as well as post-procedure cleanup and equipment restocking. Current BLS certification and CST/CAAHEP training are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; BLS certification preferred/required
• Completion of OhioHealth OR ST Fellowship or graduation from an accredited (CAAHEP) surgical technologist program preferred or equivalent military training or 10+ years’ experience as a Surgery Technician.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Must demonstrate basic critical thinking and can perform primary role independently
• Independently scrub complex cases in 1–2 service line specialties

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR for procedures and maintain sterile field.
• Deliver instruments and supplies to the surgeon and team intraoperatively.
• Assist with draping, exposed sites, and patient positioning.
• Assist with positioning, casting, splinting, and specimen handling.
• Post-procedure cleanup and equipment restocking; ensure equipment integrity.
