Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare and pass instruments in the operating room. Working under the RN, you will assist surgeons and contribute to a fast-paced lab focused on high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; BLS certification.
• State regulatory agency registration where applicable.
• Must have manual dexterity and stay calm under pressure in emergent situations.
• Graduation from a certified school of surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies.
• Pass instruments and retract tissue during surgery.
• Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure.
• Dispose of sharps and trash and prepare instruments for cleaning.
• Assist with OR turnover between cases and stocking of supplies.
• Provide business support to the department as needed.
• Follow safety procedures for medication labeling, specimen handling, and infection control.
