Job summary

Dignity Health - St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, CA is seeking an experienced RN in Labor & Delivery to support expectant mothers, newborns, and families through safe childbirth and postpartum care.

You will monitor maternal and fetal status, assist during labor and delivery, provide newborn assessments, and educate families on infant care and breastfeeding, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Current California Registered Nurse License.
• Basic Life Support - CPR certificate.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive perinatal assessment and care planning for mothers and newborns during labor, delivery and postpartum.
• Maternal and fetal monitoring with timely communication of changes to the care team.
• Assist physicians or midwives during vaginal births and C-sections, including epidurals and interventions.
• Immediate newborn care and Apgar scoring when needed.
• Education and support for patients and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and demonstrate AIDET principles in care delivery.
