Job summary

Jackson County Hospital District in Marianna, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery and Neonatal care. You will monitor fetal activity, perform newborn assessments, support procedures, and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, BLS, and preferably NRP/ECFMG certifications with ACLS. Flexibility, organization, and compassionate family-centered care are essential in this full-time position.

Qualifications

• RN must hold an active Florida nursing license.

Description

• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.


• Ability to assess neonate at delivery and perform neonatal resuscitation according to AHA/AAP NRP guidelines.


• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on infants and adult females and reassessments as per policy.


• Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.


• Demonstrates knowledge of fetal monitoring. Identifies FHR patterns and treats appropriately.


• Communicates appropriately and clearly to co-workers and physicians.


• Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs.


• Ability to assess presenting part and cardiac activity with ultrasound.


• Coordinates and supervises patient care as necessary.


• Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery departments.


• Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.


• Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.


• Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.

Requirements

Regulatory Requirements

• Completes annual educational requirements within the assigned time frame.


• Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and Joint Commission regulations related to their department and, as appropriate, to the hospital.


• Current state of Florida Registered Nurse Licensure.


• One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery experience preferred.


• BLS required.


• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification within one year preferred.


• Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring within 2 years of hire preferred.

• ACLS preferred.
