Job summary

Regional One Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery in Memphis, TN. The RN provides professional nursing care to obstetric patients using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in assigned areas.

The role requires ongoing assessments, care plan implementation, patient education, thorough documentation and collaboration with physicians and staff to ensure safe, high-quality obstetric care.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care according to regimen and standards.
• Initiates assessment based on patient problems, physician diagnosis, and health framework.
• Collects patient and family information, labs, and reports.
• Determines nursing diagnoses and care priorities, including teaching and discharge planning.
• Documents assessments and clinical judgments.
• Demonstrates nursing competency and age-specific patient care.
• Performs ongoing assessments and updates plans.
• Assesses, plans and implements care for assigned patients.
• Performs interventions as ordered by physician.
• Coordinates referrals.
• Provides patient education.
• Documents care per standards and priorities.
• Responds to emergencies and assists with CPR/BLS as needed.
• Provides teaching to patient/family with teaching outlines.
• Maintains records and charts; uses EMR to enter and retrieve data.
• Collaborates with patient/family and staff to meet needs.
• Supervises LPN and support staff in care delivery.
• Transports patients and materials safely.
• Collaborates with forensic team and security for safe environment.
• Completes training; attends in-services; supports performance improvement.
• Maintains clean and safe environment; adheres to policies.
• Prepares records and reports for admin/compliance.
