Job summary

Holy Cross Health’s Labor and Delivery unit in Silver Spring invites experienced clinical nurses to join a high-performing Women’s and Children’s nursing team. You’ll deliver expert, compassionate care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum, collaborating with anesthesiologists, physicians, and a Level III NICU.

As a Clinical Nurse in Labor and Delivery, you’ll monitor fetal heart tones, administer medications, coach patients through labor, assist in cesarean sections, document care

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ASN required, BSN or MSN preferred.
• Current Maryland RN license or compact state equivalent.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional life support certifications as required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart tones, administer medications, and coach patients through labor
• Anticipate and respond to complications using critical thinking and clinical protocols
• Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures
• Document care and patient progress using EPIC
• Collaborate with 24-hour Patient Safety Nurses, NICU teams, and physicians during high-risk deliveries and obstetric emergencies
