Overview

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Labor Compliance Specialist to join the Hunt Construction group. This position provides a flexible remote work arrangement and will be supporting the Indianapolis, Indiana office location.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures that hourly laborer and mechanics employed on a project are aware of the Federal or State Prevailing wages and all required posting are available for review in an accessible location at any time during working hours.
  • Maintains updated knowledge regarding wage and hour, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Davis-Bacon and Related Act (DBRA), and other applicable laws.
  • Maintains relevant knowledge of apprenticeship regulations, laws and relevant guidelines.
  • Ensures apprenticeships are within permitted ratios provided by wage and hour schedules.
  • Confirms registration of apprenticeships with State Apprenticeship Council(s).
  • Ensures required apprenticeship documentation is received and maintained for audit purposes.
  • Performs quality assurance of contractors and subcontractors to ensure accuracy of certified payroll records.
  • Ensures certified payrolls reflect necessary information including signed certification, reflect the use of Bona Fide plans or not, correct payroll numbers and dates, fringe benefit payments.
  • Reviews contracts for accuracy of Prevailing Wage language.
  • Obtains all pertinent information and documentation from contractors and tiers required by the wage laws through to the end of the project.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • BA/BS Business Administration or related curriculum and 2 years of relevant experience or AA/AS and 4 years of relevant experience or HS/GED and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous construction industry experience.
  • Exposure or experience in hourly payroll.
  • LCP Tracker or other labor compliance software preferred but not required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills.
