Position Title : Compliance Administrator, Labor and Employment

Job Classification : Full Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Reports to : Director of Compliance, Labor and Employment

Schedule : Standard Business Hours (9 AM – 5 PM PT); Flexible Work Schedule Available

The Spirit of the Position

LAZ Parking is looking for a Compliance Administrator to join the Labor & Employment Department on our California Regional Legal Team. The Compliance Administrator reports to Director of Labor & Employment Compliance and works closely with the California Legal Team on all matters related to labor and employment compliance. The Compliance Administrator assists the Director of Compliance in mitigating LAZ’s operational and legal risk, specifically risks associated with wage and hour compliance, employee relations, and other California employment laws.

As an integral part of the company’s legal and compliance team, the Compliance Administrator conducts regular audits of employment records and internal processes to ensure that the company’s operations and internal policies & procedures fully align with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular audits of labor and employment records to ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and laws (i.e., IWC Orders, Cal. Labor Code, FEHA, EEO, ADA, etc.).
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of periodic audits and ensure compliance with internal record-retention processes and procedures.
  • Support the Director of Compliance to establish and maintain templates and / or other processes, standards, and best practices for the California Payroll, Operations, and Human Resources teams.
  • Gain industry knowledge regarding relevant legal, regulatory, and policy developments and report findings to Director of Compliance.
  • Assist the Director of Compliance in conducting risk analyses across a variety of legal and regulatory matters including potential litigation, labor disputes, and other matters in conjunction with the Human Resources, Legal, and Payroll Teams.
  • Other duties as needed.
Skills
  • Prior experience with financial reporting or other business reporting data
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and strong internet skills using external websites
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks through to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time to meet set deadlines
  • Extensive history of teamwork and cross-function collaboration as well as strong ability to work independently
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Attention-to-detail and high-level of accuracy

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience.
Experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience with California employment and / or wage and hour laws and regulations.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with California HR industry standards and best practices.
  • Prior experience with Payroll industry standards and best practices preferred but not required.
Salary Range
  • $29.80 - $34.61 / hr ($62,000-$72,000 annually)
  • Annual Discretionary Performance Bonus
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
  • Visual acuity required for reading documents, spreadsheets, and computer screens.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 10 pounds (e.g., laptop, files).
  • Limited travel may be required for team meetings, training, or compliance audits (typically less than 10%).
