Job summary

Capital Group seeks a Labor Category Manager within Global Business Services to lead sourcing strategies across our Global Distribution portfolio, including Marketing & Sales, Retirement Plan Services, and Investor and Advisor Services.

You will partner with business leaders to drive category management, supplier negotiations, governance, and performance, while developing a high-performing team and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize cost and service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or related disciplines.
• Experience leading sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and supplier performance programs.
• Experience managing people, contractors, or cross-functional workstreams.
• Strong understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, contracting, and supplier governance.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.

As a Labor Category Manager within Capital Group's Global Business Services Strategic Sourcing and Procurement organization, you will lead sourcing strategies that support enterprise priorities across our Global Distribution portfolio, including Global Client Groups (Marketing & Sales), Retirement Plan Services, and Investor and Advisor Services.

You will serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders, helping drive value through category management, supplier strategy, sourcing, negotiations, and supplier governance. Leveraging market intelligence, spend analytics, and industry best practices, you will identify opportunities to optimize cost, improve service, manage risk, and support business objectives.

You will also develop and lead a high-performing team by providing coaching, guidance, and growth opportunities while ensuring sourcing activities are executed with rigor, consistency, and strong business partnership.

You are a collaborative sourcing leader who combines commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and strong relationship management skills to drive meaningful business outcomes.

• Drive consistent use of sourcing tools, processes, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve sourcing effectiveness, supplier performance, and business outcomes.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

• Experience leading sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and supplier performance programs.

Preferred

• Experience supporting Marketing, Sales, Client Services, or Financial Services organizations.
• Experience managing complex supplier portfolios and strategic supplier relationships.
• Familiarity with procurement technology, spend analytics, and supplier management tools.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or CSCP.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $159,354-$254,966

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
