The Charleston office seeks an Associate or Counsel with 4+ years of management-side employment litigation experience to join a midsized labor and employment practice.
You will handle discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage-and-hour matters, with responsibilities including agency proceedings before the EEOC and state/federal agencies, as well as court litigation, discovery, depositions, and motions practice.
We are partnered with a midsized labor & employment practice in search of an Associate or Counsel with 4+ years of management-side employment litigation experience for its Charleston office. The practice represents foreign and domestic companies of all sizes on virtually every type of employment and labor matter.
The Opportunity:
The incoming attorney will handle employment disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, and related workplace issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include agency proceedings before the EEOC, state fair employment practices agencies, and federal and state departments of labor; litigation in state and federal courts; legal research; discovery; motions practice; depositions; and direct client counseling.
The group defends claims under Title VII, the ADEA, the ADA, the FLSA, the FMLA, and Sarbanes-Oxley, along with wrongful discharge, retaliation, and tort claims. This is an opportunity to assume meaningful responsibility early, work directly with clients, and receive strong mentorship in a collaborative and expanding practice.
Qualifications:
This is a full-time role in Charleston with a billable requirement of up to 1,850 hours (negotiable for the right candidate) and a competitive salary and bonus structure commensurate with experience, along with full benefits, 401(k), and PTO.
