Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care. The Registered Nurse collaborates with patients, family/significant others, peers, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the delivery of healthcare services to patients. They assess the patient's needs, plan care, and implement and evaluate the medical and nursing regimens in accordance with hospital and nursing standards. They demonstrate leadership skills and a commitment to professional growth.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school with a current New York RN license/registration.
• BSN required.
• Knowledge of current nursing, medical, and health trends and practices.
• One year of acute care nursing experience preferred (excluding medical-surgical or step-down units).
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required.
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association) is required for all RNs, except NICU and OR RNs. Newly hired nurses must obtain this within 12 months; experienced nurses within 6 months.
• PALS certification (American Heart Association) is required for RNs in PACU, Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Urgent Care, and Ambulatory Surgery. Newly hired nurses must obtain this within 12 months; experienced nurses within 6 months.
• NRP certification is required for RNs in Mother-Baby, Labor & Delivery, and NICU units. Newly hired nurses must obtain this within 6 months.
