Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Lebanon, TN, is seeking a Women’s Resource Nurse. The RN provides direct patient care within the perinatal specialty, floats to Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, High Risk OB, and OB/GYN ER as needed, and uses therapeutic communication to support safe, high-quality care.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, TN RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS, NRP, AWHONN fetal monitoring certification, and at least two years in Labor and Delivery or

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current TN RN licensure.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS & PALS certification or within 6 months of hire.
• NRP certification or within 6 months of hire.
• AWHONN fetal monitoring Certification or within 1 year of hire or CEFM after eligibility.
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Experience in at least 2 of L&D, Mother/Baby, High Risk OB/GYN, or ER.

Responsibilities

• Use nursing process to individualize holistic care for perinatal patients.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth, assessment, and care by age group.
• Provide care for pregnancy, labor, birth and related complications.
• Deliver care respecting spiritual and cultural needs.
• Document patient care and coordinate with the team.
• Demonstrate competency in peri-operative care and fetal monitoring.
• Float across Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, High Risk OB, and OB/GYN ER as needed.
• Educate patients and document understanding.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Women’s Resource Nurse

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.Identifiesnursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Plans individualized patient careutilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement. When acting inchargenurse role, registered nursesare responsible forday-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patientneedand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinicalresource for the staff. Respondin a timely mannertorequests forinformation or follow-up with physician,staffor patient issues.Women’s RN Resource positions will float to Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, High Risk OB, and OB/GYN ER

What you will do in this role:

• You willutilizethe nursing process: assessment, planning,implementationand evaluation to individualize holistic care to meet the needs of perinatal, postnatal and GYN patients and their families
• You willdemonstrateknowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served
• You willprovidescare –demonstratingknowledge of pregnancy,laborand birth with associated complications
• You willprovidescare –demonstratingknowledge of GYN complications
• You will deliver care with respect to individual’s spiritual and cultural needs
• You willdemonstratecompetency in peri-operative care
• You willdemonstratecompetency with PACU recovery for perinatal patients
• You will integrate the various methods of patient care documentation
• You will provide patient education and documentation of understanding
• You willdemonstratecompetency in fetal monitoring

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
• Current TN RN licensure
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current ACLS & PALS certification or within 6 months of hire
• Current NRP certifications or within 6 months of hire
• Current AWHONN fetal monitoring Certification or within 1 year of hire or Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM) after eligibility
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Must have experience in at least 2 of the following areas: L&D, Mother/Baby, High Risk OB/GYN, or ER.
