Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a busy hospital setting. You will document care, apply the Nursing Process, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.

The role includes acting as charge nurse and ensuring safe, quality care with a patient-centered approach. Qualifications include a BSN or ASN, Tennessee RN license or compact state, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Social skills to positively engage with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees.
• Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or appropriate compact State.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification.
• Bachelor of Science or Associate of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the Registered Nurse scope.
• Document all patient care in a timely manner using the nursing process.
• Act as charge nurse as needed and supervise staff to ensure quality care.
• Promote safety and compliance with patient safety goals and hospital policies.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and interdisciplinary care planning.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.Participates in performance improvement activities.Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting in charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment.Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff.Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

• You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• You will promote customer service initiatives along with Centennial Medical Center Service Values. (HCAHPS).
• You will document all patient care in a timely manner.
• You will utilize the Nursing Process for individual care to meet needs of patients.
• You will demonstrate ability to perform technical skills and Procedures.
• You will promote compliance with National Patient Safety Goals.

What qualifications you will need:

• Social skills to positively engage with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees.
• Degree from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (B.S. or A.S.).
• Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or appropriate compact State.
• BLS
• 1 Year of RN experience required
• Labor and Delivery RN experience highly preferred
