Job description

A law firm seeks an experienced and highly skilled Labor & Employment Attorney to join its growing practice. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while requiring occasional travel for client meetings and court appearances. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in employment litigation, particularly in trial experience and motion practice. Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment-related disputes, focusing on litigation and trials.
  • Handle motions, depositions, and summary judgment proceedings.
  • Lead mediation sessions and settlement negotiations.
  • Advise clients on labor and employment law issues, providing creative and practical solutions.
  • Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex, multi-disciplinary matters.
  • Travel to court and client meetings as required (remote position with flexibility).

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in labor and employment litigation.
  • Extensive experience with trial work, summary judgment motions, depositions, and mediation.
  • Familiarity with public agency employers and transactional work in the labor and employment space is a plus.
  • Admission to practice law in California is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
