Richard's Painting is seeking a Labeler & Canning Line Operator to support paint filling, labeling, and packaging operations. You will prepare equipment, monitor fill levels by weight, apply labels to containers, and help maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards. This hourly, full-time role runs Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare filling stations and production equipment for specific products.
  • Ensure fill levels are accurate by weight and containers are filled correctly.
  • Safely operate labeling equipment and apply labels to containers.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisor on production priorities.
  • Stage completed containers for canning and filling operations.
  • Load and unload containers from conveyor filling lines.
  • Palletize finished products for shipment.
  • Clean machinery and equipment using water or solvents as required.
  • Minimize cleaning materials while maintaining cleanliness and quality.
  • Follow safety, quality, housekeeping, and production procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Title: Labeler & Canning Line Operator

Department: Production

Reports To: Filling Lead / Production Manager

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Summary

Responsible for supporting the paint filling, canning, and labeling operations by preparing filling equipment, applying labels, operating production equipment, staging products, ensuring product quality, and assisting with general production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare filling stations and production equipment for specific products.
  • Ensure fill levels are accurate by weight and that products are filled into the correct cans, pails, and containers.
  • Safely operate labeling equipment and efficiently apply labels to containers, including quart, gallon, and five-gallon packaging.
  • Coordinate with the Production Supervisor and/or Filling Lead regarding production priorities.
  • Stage completed containers for canning and filling operations.
  • Load and unload containers from conveyor filling lines.
  • Palletize finished products by stacking and preparing shipments.
  • Clean machinery, tanks, and production equipment using water or solvents, depending on product requirements.
  • Minimize the use of cleaning materials while maintaining equipment cleanliness and product quality.
  • Follow all safety, quality, housekeeping, and production procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to wet and humid conditions, extreme heat, elevated work areas, and outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are typically moderate to loud.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, hourly position. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work schedules may vary due to production demands, overtime requirements, vacations, and departmental needs.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Forklift operation, chemical handling, and respirator training required (provided by the company).

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
