Job summary

Eurofins USA Environment Testing is seeking a Disposal Technician to safely dispose of spent chemicals, process waste, and unused samples in accordance with guidelines. The role involves transporting waste within the lab and performing physical tasks in a dirty, odor-filled environment.

Responsibilities include disposing samples, keeping the waste area clean, using PPE correctly, loading/unloading materials, and assisting with inter-department transfers.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• AA degree in a life or physical science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, etc) preferred.
• Current, valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Proper disposal of samples.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the waste disposal room and loading dock area including waste removal throughout the day.
• Properly utilize personal protective equipment at all times while disposing of samples.
• Load and unload pallets/ boxes/ materials.
• Assist with sample transfer between departments within the laboratory.
• Assist Sample Custodian with sample location and return to cooler in proper storage locations (4°C) for 3-4 hours per day.
• Organize samples located in waste disposal room.
• Help clean and organize coolers.
• Remove samples from coolers to table, and sort them accordingly.
• Learn and become knowledgeable of bottle types, sample test codes and preservatives.
• Adhere to analytical and quality control protocols described in SOPs, QA Manual, and project requirements.
• Assist with other assigned projects as needed.
