Job summary

Cooper Standard is seeking a test lab technician to perform mechanical testing on diverse product types and components, program and operate lab equipment, and report results. The role requires following procedures, maintaining records, and troubleshooting test setups.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2 years of technical training, 2–4 years of experience, and strong mechanical aptitude. Travel may be required; familiarity with MS Office is beneficial in a collaborative manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two Year College Degree or Technical Training and Certification preferred.
• Two to four years of relevant work experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical/problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Good interpersonal skills for teamwork.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly.
• Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical testing on a variety of product types and components, including programming and operating laboratory test equipment, while following procedures.
• Maintains accurate records, verifies data, and completes test result documentation and reporting.
• Works within established laboratory procedures under moderate supervision.
• Develops and assists with assembling and maintaining laboratory test fixtures.
• Assists with troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment.
• Supports Quality Audits, Customer Complaints, and Failure Analysis.
• Conducts work safely and professionally; supports 6S initiatives.
