Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia is seeking a Lab Test Simulation Integration Engineer to design, develop, and integrate real-time simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop tests for aircraft development and production. You will connect simulation platforms with aircraft controllers, hardware, software, and communication interfaces to evaluate system behavior in the lab.
The role emphasizes building Simulink models, Python automation, and clear communication with test engineers.
Savannah, Georgia | on‑site in a lab environment
This role helps create and support real‑time simulation and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop test environments used in the development and production of Gulfstream aircraft. Your work will connect simulation platforms with aircraft controllers, hardware, software, and communication interfaces so test engineers can evaluate system behavior and solve problems in the lab. You will have the opportunity to shape technical solutions, improve lab capabilities, and work directly with the people who rely on these systems.
Design, develop, and integrate real‑time simulation systems with aircraft hardware and software in Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop test environments.
Build and integrate Simulink models that support simulation, system evaluation, and lab testing.
Connect analog, discrete, data bus, and Ethernet interfaces with aircraft controllers and third‑party simulation platforms.
Create automated test scripts, testing utilities, and lab support tools using Python or another high‑level programming language.
Interpret aircraft and simulation electrical drawings to guide system integration and troubleshooting.
Support test engineers by responding to requests for new functionality and resolving aircraft or lab‑system issues.
Plan and coordinate engineering work, develop technical approaches, and solve difficult problems within schedule and cost objectives.
Improve lab processes and stay current with simulation, test, and aircraft‑system developments that can strengthen product quality.
Simulation hardware, models, interfaces, and aircraft controllers work together as intended in the lab.
You troubleshoot methodically, isolate issues, and turn complex technical findings into practical solutions.
Your models, scripts, utilities, and integration work are accurate, reliable, and useful to test engineers.
You communicate clearly with lab customers, technical partners, and teams outside your immediate work group.
You make progress in ambiguous or rapidly changing situations without losing focus on quality and customer needs.
You identify improvements that expand lab capability, reduce recurring problems, or make testing more effective.
