Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, GA is seeking an Experimental Test - Instrumentation Technical Specialist II to support the development and production of advanced Gulfstream aircraft.

You will plan, execute, and supervise structural and materials test programs, operate MTS load frame systems and MOOG hydraulic controls, and develop test procedures and reports. Strong background in ASTM standards and data analysis is required, with mentoring responsibilities for engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• Significant experience with structural or materials testing.
• Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting MTS load frame systems.
• MTS 793, Test Works Elite.
• Experience with servo-hydraulic testing and closed-loop control systems.
• Working knowledge of ASTM testing standards and material characterization methods.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MOOG hydraulic control systems.
• Experience with environmental systems
• Experience with tensile, compression, shear, fatigue, and durability testing.
• Familiarity with strain gages, extensometers, load cells, and data acquisition systems.
• Calibration of systems including load cells, LVDTs, extensometers, etc.
• Knowledge of Wheatstone bridges for designing transducers

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

2. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
