Job Description

Performs clinical laboratory procedures, examinations, and other tests according to established protocols. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment and records, performing quality assurance activities, and exercising independent judgment and responsibility.

Job Responsibilities

• * Sets up and performs routine and/or complex laboratory tests and procedures relevant to the lab area and personal qualifications. Prepares and tests specimens and reports results.
• * Follows established quality control procedures and records data accordingly.
• * Performs routine and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• * Troubleshoots basic instrumentation, culture media, chemicals, reagents, stains, solutions, and technical issues.
• * Maintains sufficient supplies at the work station and ensures quality control and assurance activities.
• * Uses infection control practices and procedures.
• * Performs related duties as required.

ADA Essential Functions

Job Qualifications

• * High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science, or related field preferred.
• * Licensed by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (or relevant to the area of assignment) required.
• * Minimum of one (1) year of work experience and/or training specific to the area noted above required.
