Job summary

Eck Industries Inc in Manitowoc, WI, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support daily lab operations, verify material properties, and ensure aluminum castings meet quality standards. Follow instructions, prepare samples, and perform tests with spectrometer and hardness testers.

Qualifications

• Follow work instructions and specifications to perform laboratory tests and accurately record results.
• Prepare and test samples using the spectrometer, including routine cleaning, maintenance, calibration, and alloy analysis.
• Operate the tensile tester: prepare and measure specimens, set up equipment, run tests, and share reports as needed.
• Use the Brinell hardness tester to measure, read, and convert hardness results.
• Verify heat treat batches and mechanical properties; approve loads and complete required shop documentation when authorized.
• Inspect incoming ingots, including identification, marking, and proper storage.
• Complete equipment inspections, maintain a clean and organized 6S work area, and handle waste and scrap properly.
• Operate a forklift or other equipment as needed and assist with other assigned duties.

Responsibilities
