Job summary

ECS Limited, part of the ECS Group of Companies, is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Laboratory Technician for the Murfreesboro, TN area. No experience is required; you will learn under supervision while performing basic lab tests on concrete and soils samples.

We provide paid training and cover certification fees, with opportunities to advance as you earn credentials from ASTM or other bodies. This role supports QA/QC in our laboratories and may include light fieldwork.

Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Obtain lab certifications applicable to the lab work performed
• Strong communication
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
• Dependable, self-motivated, and responsible work ethic
• Ability to follow directions and work under close supervision
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day

Responsibilities

• Performs basic laboratory tests on construction material samples under supervision
• Assists with sample preparation and testing procedures
• Compiles test results, data input, data processing, and other administrative duties
• Performs soils laboratory testing including Atterberg limits, gradation analyses, swell testing, moisture content, visual classifications
• Performs concrete laboratory testing including stripping, labeling, curing, temperature logs, and sample breaking
• Maintains a clean and organized laboratory environment and calibration records
• Supports calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment
• Assists with additional laboratory functions and occasional fieldwork as needed
