Quality Control Technician Job Description
The following responsibilities and requirements outline the role of a Quality Control Technician:
- Perform quality control inspection tasks, including verification of all ingredient and product information.
- Conduct operational and pre-operational inspections.
- Ensure that each product complies with FDA regulations, including traceability records, temperature monitoring, and HACCP records.
- Follow all safety requirements.
- Verify the accuracy of thermometers and product temperatures.
- Collect, process, package, maintain, and retain samples for testing.
- Assist all associates in the Quality Control department and other departments throughout the plant.
- Taste and evaluate all product samples received.
- Be cross-trained in Quality Control responsibilities.
- Familiarize with all plant functions.
- Perform responsibilities accurately from start to finish with complete documentation.
- Record and process samples received.
- Process and record customer complaints.
- Conduct compliance auditing.
- Audit and update the plant reference book.
- Conduct data entry and ensure all products are manufactured under correct procedures from raw materials receiving to shipping of finished products.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work with regulatory inspectors and compliance officials.
- Work under pressure, dependability, and good follow-up skills.
- Demonstrate excellent work habits in line with GMPs.
- Practice safe working habits.
- Ability to lift in excess of 25 pounds frequently.
- Willingness to learn and perform all positions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good human relations skills and team-oriented attitude.
- Availability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Access, and Excel.
- Two-year degree in science or related field.
- Retail baking experience.
