Quality Control Technician Job Description

The following responsibilities and requirements outline the role of a Quality Control Technician:

  • Perform quality control inspection tasks, including verification of all ingredient and product information.
  • Conduct operational and pre-operational inspections.
  • Ensure that each product complies with FDA regulations, including traceability records, temperature monitoring, and HACCP records.
  • Follow all safety requirements.
  • Verify the accuracy of thermometers and product temperatures.
  • Collect, process, package, maintain, and retain samples for testing.
  • Assist all associates in the Quality Control department and other departments throughout the plant.
  • Taste and evaluate all product samples received.
  • Be cross-trained in Quality Control responsibilities.
  • Familiarize with all plant functions.
  • Perform responsibilities accurately from start to finish with complete documentation.
  • Record and process samples received.
  • Process and record customer complaints.
  • Conduct compliance auditing.
  • Audit and update the plant reference book.
  • Conduct data entry and ensure all products are manufactured under correct procedures from raw materials receiving to shipping of finished products.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to work with regulatory inspectors and compliance officials.
  • Work under pressure, dependability, and good follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent work habits in line with GMPs.
  • Practice safe working habits.
  • Ability to lift in excess of 25 pounds frequently.
  • Willingness to learn and perform all positions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good human relations skills and team-oriented attitude.
  • Availability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
